Job Title

ASIC Design Engineer, High Speed IO

Role Summary

RTL design engineer responsible for architecture, RTL implementation, verification and silicon bring-up of high-speed IO IPs (USB, UFS, Ethernet, PCIe) for automotive SoCs. Position sits within NVIDIA Graphics Bengaluru and partners with architects, verification, timing/VLSI and physical design teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level - expects approximately 2+ years of industry experience in ASIC/digital design and verification.

Responsibilities

The role owns micro-architecture and RTL for IO subsystems and drives verification, timing closure and silicon validation.

  • Define micro-architecture and implement RTL modules to meet performance, power and area targets.
  • Make architectural trade-offs considering system-level implications.
  • Drive and coordinate functional verification of implemented features with verification teams.
  • Work with timing, VLSI and physical design teams to meet timing and routability targets.
  • Support silicon bring-up and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects to define critical features and interfaces.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and behaviors for successful performance in this role.

Must-have

  • Strong digital design and verification fundamentals, including RTL design and micro-architecture.
  • Practical experience with timing closure and working with physical design/timing teams.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (architecture, verification, VLSI, physical design).
  • Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in multi-geography, matrixed teams.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience implementing or verifying high-speed IO protocols such as USB, UFS, Ethernet or PCIe.
  • Knowledge of security standards, protocols and system-security architectures in modern SoCs.
  • Experience with CPU or microcontroller-based subsystems and automotive semiconductor development.

Education Requirements

BTech or MTech degree; the posting expects approximately 2+ years of relevant ASIC/digital design experience. Certifications or field-of-study were not specified beyond these degree names.
