ASIC Design Engineer, High-Speed IO
NVIDIAJob Title
ASIC Design Engineer, High-Speed IO
Role Summary
Design RTL and drive verification for high-speed IO IPs (UFS, Ethernet, PCIe, USB) targeted at automotive SoCs. The role owns micro-architecture, RTL implementation, verification closure, timing closure, and silicon validation for assigned units.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career - typically requires about 2+ years of relevant ASIC/RTL design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities as a core designer on High-Speed IO IP teams.
- Define micro-architecture and implement RTL for design modules.
- Make architectural trade-offs to meet performance, power, and area targets.
- Drive functional verification and partner with verification teams to ensure correctness.
- Collaborate with timing, VLSI, and physical design teams to achieve timing closure and routability.
- Support silicon bring-up and validation activities.
- Analyze system implications of features and work with hardware architects on critical features.
Requirements
Key requisites and desirable skills.
- Must-have: 2+ years of hands-on digital ASIC/RTL design experience and strong digital design and verification fundamentals.
- Must-have: Proven experience developing complex functional units or CPU/microcontroller-based subsystems (micro-architecture, RTL, verification, timing closure).
- Must-have: Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must-have: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and distributed teams.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of HSIO protocols and SoC architectures (UFS, Ethernet, PCIe, USB).
- Nice-to-have: Working exposure to AI tools such as Claude or Cursor.
Education Requirements
BTech or MTech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related engineering field.
