Role Summary

Join ByteDance's Technology team in San Jose as an ASIC Design Engineer on the video silicon IP team. Contribute to hardware accelerators for video encoding and processing with a focus on high performance and low power.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design hardware accelerators for video encoding and image/video processing.
• Collaborate with architecture, algorithm, and verification teams to integrate and optimize IP blocks.
• Implement RTL (SystemVerilog) or HLS-based microarchitectures and iterate on design trade-offs.
• Optimize designs for performance, power, and area.
• Support verification activities and participate in design reviews.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Knowledge of video codecs and video compression concepts.
• RTL design experience (SystemVerilog) or experience with High Level Synthesis (HLS).
• Familiarity with verification methodologies such as UVM, and with SystemC or DPI.
• Proficient programming skills in Python for automation and tooling.
• Understanding of ASIC design flow and implementation constraints.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior hands-on experience on video codec IP or related accelerator blocks.
• Deeper UVM/SystemVerilog verification or SystemC modeling expertise.

Education Requirements
