Job Title
ASIC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work on digital IP blocks for advanced satellite communication ASICs as part of the TeraWave project. Contribute to RTL development, collaborate with systems, algorithm, verification, DFT, physical design, and firmware teams, and support integration and tape-out readiness.
This is an early-career engineering role focused on developing practical ASIC design skills under senior engineer guidance.
Experience Level
Entry-level β 0β2 years of ASIC digital design experience (including internships, co-ops, academic projects, or research).
Responsibilities
Deliver defined portions of digital ASIC IP from specification through RTL release and support integration activities.
- Support design and delivery of ASIC IP blocks from specification through RTL release under senior guidance.
- Assist in defining microarchitecture for DSP and control logic blocks.
- Participate in trade studies on throughput, latency, area, power, and schedule.
- Translate communication requirements from systems/algorithm teams into hardware implementations.
- Coordinate with verification, DFT, physical design, and firmware teams for integration and tape-out readiness.
- Contribute to RTL development, test plans, and design reviews to maintain quality.
- Identify and communicate technical risks early in the development cycle.
- Support post-silicon bring-up and assist in lab or field debugging.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for day-one contribution.
- 0β2 years of ASIC digital design experience; internships, co-ops, academic projects, or research are acceptable.
- Exposure to ASIC or FPGA development through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Foundational knowledge of SystemVerilog/Verilog RTL design and debug.
- Familiarity with digital design fundamentals, including synthesis and timing concepts.
- Awareness of power, performance, and area (PPA) tradeoffs in digital design.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
