ASIC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work within Qualcomm's SoC and ASIC design organization to develop, implement, and optimize ASIC/SoC and IP solutions. Projects may include architecture, RTL design, implementation, timing analysis, verification, and silicon bring-up across domains such as mobile, data center, AI/ML, and automotive.

Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include design, implementation, verification, and cross-team integration of ASIC and SoC blocks.
- Participate in architecture, design, implementation, integration, and optimization of ASIC, SoC, and IP solutions.
- Develop and validate designs to meet performance, power, area, timing, and quality objectives.
- Perform RTL design, synthesis, static timing analysis, timing closure, and silicon bring-up support as required.
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL, physical design, verification, methodology, and software teams.
- Analyze and resolve design, implementation, and verification challenges using sound ASIC engineering practices.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute technical expertise to drive project execution and quality.
- Develop and enhance design flows, methodologies, automation frameworks, and engineering tools to improve productivity and quality.
- Apply silicon learnings and feedback into future designs, processes, and methodologies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Experience in ASIC, FPGA, or SoC design and development.
- Understanding of digital design fundamentals, computer architecture, and semiconductor development processes.
- Experience with industry-standard ASIC design, implementation, verification, and/or timing analysis tools.
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, Tcl, Perl, or similar).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have / preferred skills.
- Experience in RTL design, ASIC implementation, timing analysis, timing closure, verification, or silicon validation.
- Experience with high-performance computing, AI/ML accelerators, data center technologies, low-power design, or related IP blocks.
- Knowledge of modern SoC architectures, IP integration, and advanced process technologies.
- Experience developing tools, scripts, or automation to improve engineering productivity and design quality.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering; specifically listed: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
