ASIC Architecture Intern
Role Summary
Support the Custom Solutions Architecture team in ASIC architecture research, tooling, and AI-driven automation to accelerate architecture definition and exploration. Work with architects to perform early-stage trade-off analysis, prototype tooling, and document findings.
May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology under U.S. law.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). No professional experience required; suitable for students. Role is designed to run alongside academic studies.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in early-stage architecture exploration and evaluate trade-offs across performance, power, area, and feasibility.
- Document findings and contribute to architecture specifications and internal reports.
- Develop Python-based tools and scripts to support architecture workflows.
- Automate repetitive analysis tasks to improve team productivity.
- Prototype AI/LLM-assisted workflows to accelerate architectural analysis and definition.
- Collaborate with experienced architects and cross-functional teams on design studies.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
Must-have:
- Proficiency in Python and ability to write clean, functional code for analysis or automation tasks.
- Hands-on programming experience for tooling or data analysis.
- Familiarity with AI-based coding tools and a curiosity to apply them to architecture tasks.
- Ability to work part-time alongside academic studies and collaborate effectively on a team.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior software engineering experience or personal coding projects demonstrating strong coding ability.
- Experience with data analysis libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib).
- Basic understanding of digital design or computer architecture concepts.
- Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-powered development tools.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in a B.Sc. program in Electrical Engineering and have completed at least two years of study.
