ASIC Architect - Hod Hasharon
QualcommJob Title
ASIC Architect
Role Summary
Define and drive the system-level architecture for next-generation SoCs and ASIC platforms targeting high-performance compute, 6G communications, AI, networking, and embedded systems. Serve as the technical leader for architecture, technology direction, and system tradeoffs across hardware and software domains.
Work cross-functionally with product management, silicon engineering, verification, firmware, and software teams; supervise and mentor engineers; and influence long-term technology roadmaps.
Experience Level
Mid-level - approximately 3β6 years of relevant semiconductor, ASIC/SoC, or processor architecture experience (candidates with equivalent experience will be considered).
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include leading system architecture and guiding products from concept to production.
- Define end-to-end architecture for complex ASIC/SoC products across compute, memory, networking, security, and acceleration subsystems.
- Lead system-level hardware/software co-design and partitioning decisions.
- Develop performance, power, area (PPA), and cost optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with ASIC design, verification, physical design, firmware, and software teams to drive designs to production.
- Define technology roadmaps and influence long-term architectural strategy.
- Supervise, train, and motivate engineering teams; communicate architectural vision to leadership and customers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 3β6 years of experience in semiconductor, ASIC, SoC, or processor architecture.
- Proven experience leading architecture and development of complex silicon products from concept through production.
- Deep expertise in DSP architecture and signal-processing systems.
- Experience with CPU architectures (ARM, RISC-V, x86 or similar).
- Knowledge of GPU and parallel-processing architecture, hardware accelerators, and heterogeneous computing.
- Experience with high-performance SoC design and system-level tradeoffs (PPA and cost optimization).
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; ability to influence executives and product stakeholders.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with wireless communications, modem, networking, AI, or datacenter silicon.
- Track record of delivering high-volume commercial ASICs.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field are referenced. Minimum experience mappings in the source: Bachelor's +6+ years; Master's +5+ years; PhD +4+ years. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
