Architecture Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) develops and evaluates new CPU architecture features. This role creates and executes architecture compliance verification, builds C/assembly/HVL tests, and develops automation and debug flows to validate CPU behavior across implementations.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 3β8 years of engineering experience in CPU or sophisticated IP verification.
Responsibilities
Deliver architecture verification and compliance across implementations.
- Interpret architecture definitions, run feasibility studies, and develop verification strategy.
- Design and implement verification tests and scenarios in assembly, C, HVL or higher-level languages.
- Develop architecture compliance tests to validate CPU features, execution flows, and system-level scenarios.
- Build automation, debug flows, and reusable test infrastructure for cross-implementation validation.
- Collaborate with architects, designers and distributed teams to reproduce and root-cause issues.

Must-have: Strong analytical and low-level debugging skills; solid understanding of computer architecture (including out-of-order execution, caches, memory).

Must-have: Strong C programming and assembly language skills for test development and low-level validation.

Must-have: Experience with testbench development, verification methodologies and automation for RTL/architecture validation.

Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work with geographically distributed teams.

Nice-to-have: Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog, UVM, simulation tools (VCS, Questa), scripting (Python/Perl).

Nice-to-have: Prior micro-architecture verification experience (CPUs/GPUs, interconnects), test generators/toolkits (e.g., Raven/ACK), and FPGA or silicon bring-up/debug.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with ARM A-profile architecture.
Education Requirements
BTech/B.S., MTech/M.S. or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or a closely related technical field.
