Architecture Intern, MS - Summer 2027

Role Summary

Internship on Marvell’s Compute and Custom Solutions (CCS) architecture team supporting architecture definition for datacenter products such as SmartNICs, servers, AI accelerators and switches. The role involves customer engagement, silicon partitioning, IP selection, packaging strategy, and coordination with internal teams to define and validate custom silicon and SiP solutions.

Work will support technical proposals, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders and customers.

Experience Level

Internship / Entry-level. Suitable for current students or early-career candidates; no specific years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include supporting architecture definition and technical coordination across customers and internal teams.

• Engage with customers, engineering, and product/marketing teams to define chip architectures for datacenter products.
• Analyze and recommend silicon partitioning, IP selection, and packaging technology.
• Translate technical solutions into clear presentations and documentation for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other business units to identify and leverage internal IP and capabilities.
• Document findings and present results to the architecture team.

• Must-have: Knowledge of CMOS technology and the physical design flow; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; clear written and verbal communication; ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
• Must-have: Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• May be required: Eligibility to access export-controlled information; non-U.S. applicants may be subject to export license review.
• Nice-to-have: Experience or knowledge of system architectures for datacenter products (SmartNICs, AI accelerators, switches, servers).
• Nice-to-have: Strong programming experience and familiarity with packaging technology or system-in-package (SiP) considerations.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field with expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028. PhD candidates are noted as potentially eligible for additional compensation.
