Architecture Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) to develop and maintain Arm's architectural pseudocode and executable models for CPU and system architectures across A-, R-, and M-profiles. The role contributes to architecture definition, modelling, tooling, and validation to ensure correct implementation of specifications.

Responsibilities

Contribute to modelling, tooling, and validation work that supports Arm's architecture roadmap.

  • Develop, validate, and maintain architectural models and related artifacts.
  • Support and improve toolflows that consume architectural data, focusing on correctness, usability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to explore architectural concepts and technologies.
  • Document and present technical findings; participate in design discussions and reviews.
  • Test and refine models and tools; contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

Core technical skills and behaviours expected for successful candidates.

  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and systems engineering concepts.
  • Programming experience in Python; exposure to systems programming in C, C++, or Rust.
  • Familiarity with software development practices: version control, testing, and basic CI workflows.
  • Ability to learn and adapt tools and workflows as requirements evolve.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical audiences.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and translating high-level requirements into technical solutions.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to Arm architecture or low-level programming (assembly).
  • Experience with architectural, performance, or system-level models.
  • Demonstrated interest in hardware-software interaction and collaborative problem solving (projects, internships, open source, or research).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
