Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Develop AI agents and intelligent workflows for hardware design and verification.
  • Apply LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and ML techniques to RTL/SystemVerilog generation, analysis, and debugging.
  • Build automation flows that integrate C/C++, SystemC, and RTL development tools.
  • Create and evaluate benchmark datasets and metrics for hardware-focused AI tasks.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and verification engineers to validate solutions on real engineering problems.

Requirements

Core must-have and nice-to-have skills for successful candidates.

Must-have:

  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C/C++.
  • Understanding of digital design, computer architecture, or hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development environments.
  • Interest in AI, machine learning, and large language models.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and able to work on challenging technical problems.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog, RTL, FPGA design, or hardware verification.
  • Familiarity with Git, scripting, and software development best practices.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. Expected graduation November 2028 or later. Candidates for the 16-month internship must be available May/June 2027 through August/September 2028. "Related field" and equivalent academic progress are acceptable as stated in the posting.
