Role Summary
Provide application engineering and technical support for Synopsys implementation products, focusing on RTL-to-GDS flows. Diagnose and resolve synthesis and place-and-route issues, drive customer adoption of implementation solutions, and act as the customer advocate to influence product roadmap and R&D priorities.
Work closely with customers and internal R&D teams to deliver solutions, run technical campaigns, enable new flows, and document knowledge for frontline support.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of experience in physical implementation (RTL-to-GDS) and related EDA flows.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide hands-on technical support for RTL-to-GDS flows, including diagnosis and resolution of synthesis and place-and-route issues.
- Drive global customer adoption of Synopsys implementation products and methodologies.
- Engage directly with customers on flagship projects, performing in-depth design analysis and, where necessary, on-site support.
- Participate in technical campaigns (benchmarks, displacements, deployments, flow/tech enablement) to improve solution usability and adoption.
- Translate customer problems and feedback into actionable requirements for R&D and contribute to product roadmap discussions.
- Develop and publish technical articles and Knowledge Base content to provide front-line support and self-help guidance.
- Deliver training and rollout of new product methodologies to customers and internal teams.

Key technical and professional requirements.

Must-have: Deep domain expertise in synthesis, place & route, and timing analysis; strong experience with Synopsys Fusion Compiler or equivalent implementation tool.

Must-have: Proficiency with scripting and automation (Tcl, Unix shell, Perl).

Must-have: Strong debugging skills and hands-on experience analyzing real customer designs; ability to deliver practical solutions under time pressure.

Must-have: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in customer-facing engineering roles.

Nice-to-have: Knowledge of static timing analysis (STA), low-power design flows, and Python scripting.

Nice-to-have: Prior involvement in multiple chip tape-outs, preferably at 7nm or smaller process nodes.
- Self-starting, collaborative mindset with the ability to represent customer needs to product teams and drive adoption.
Education Requirements
B.Tech (or equivalent) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or M.Tech (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
