Applications Engineering, Sr Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical customer support for Synopsys sign-off tools (PrimeTime suite) to diagnose and resolve timing, power, and sign-off issues, and to drive adoption of new product capabilities. Work closely with chip design teams, R&D, and global applications engineering to reproduce problems, deliver workarounds or fixes, and provide training and technical guidance.
You will help enable successful tape-outs for leading-edge semiconductor designs.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide hands-on customer support for tape-outs using PrimeTime, PrimeShield, PrimeClosure, and PrimePower.
- Debug complex timing, power, and sign-off issues; reproduce problems in-house and work with R&D to deliver solutions or workarounds.
- Run beta programs, build proof-of-concept flows, and drive adoption of new features.
- Capture customer requirements from real design challenges and propose product enhancements to improve sign-off accuracy, performance, or usability.
- Create and deliver technical training sessions, presentations, and demos tailored to customer design flows.
- Collaborate with local and global applications engineering teams to share knowledge, escalate technical issues, and align on best practices.
- Review and provide feedback on product documentation to ensure accuracy for customer-facing scenarios.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
- Must: 3+ years of hands-on semiconductor design experience with deep expertise in static timing analysis, power analysis, or physical design sign-off.
- Must: Strong working knowledge of PrimeTime; familiarity with PrimeShield, PrimeClosure, or PrimePower is a significant plus.
- Must: Proven ability to debug timing and power issues in complex SoC or ASIC designs, ideally in a customer-facing applications engineering role.
- Must: Scripting skills in Tcl, Python, or Perl for automation, flow development, and issue reproduction.
- Must: Experience working directly with customers in technical support, field applications, or consulting capacities and clear technical communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience running beta programs, building PoC flows, and delivering training sessions.
- Preferred: Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites for onsite support, training, or escalations.
