Applications Engineering Specialist

Role Summary

The Applications Engineering Specialist supports the adoption and effective use of Siemens EDA’s Solido Design Environment (DE) solutions. This role involves partnering with semiconductor design teams for technical evaluations, deployments, and technical sales activities.

Working closely with customer engineering teams, the specialist provides technical advice for characterization, verification, and optimization workflows in circuit design.

Experience Level

Mid-level; relevant experience in a technical role related to semiconductor design or engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining professional relationships with customer engineers and teams.
• Delivering technical presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.
• Supporting customer deployments by identifying and resolving workflow or methodology issues.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant experience in a technical role related to semiconductor design.
• Ability to work from the Saskatoon facility.

Nice-to-have qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Exposure to semiconductor design workflows and methodologies.
• Strong background in circuit design (analog, mixed-signal, or custom digital).
• Familiarity with EDA tools is beneficial.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar field required.
