Role Summary

Provide expert technical support to customers integrating Synopsys Interface IP into complex SoC designs. Act as the primary advisor for IP usage, configuration, integration, and silicon/system bring-up, working closely with R&D and field teams.

The role is customer-facing and hands-on, focused on debugging real silicon issues, enabling successful tape-outs, and feeding field insights back to product engineering.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in ASIC/SoC design, verification, or applications engineering.

Responsibilities

Deliver hands-on technical support and integration assistance for Interface IP across customer SoC projects.

• Advise customers on IP configuration, integration strategies, and feature trade-offs.
• Assess feature-specific requirements and integrate IP into complex SoC ecosystems.
• Perform silicon/system bring-up and debug critical real-world issues in labs and customer sites.
• Collaborate with R&D and field teams to develop tailored solutions and escalate product issues.
• Keep current with industry specifications and protocol developments relevant to customer applications.
• Travel occasionally to customer sites and labs for in-person debugging and bring-up support.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in design, verification, or applications engineering for ASIC or SoC.
• Proficiency in RTL coding (Verilog or VHDL) and practical experience with simulation, synthesis, and STA flows.
• Direct experience integrating and debugging high-speed protocols such as Ethernet, PCIe, or DDR.
• Comfortable working in UNIX environments and familiar with full ASIC/SoC tape-out processes and lab bring-up.
• Strong debugging skills across RTL-to-silicon flow and ability to communicate technical trade-offs to customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer support.

Nice-to-have:

• Exposure to CDC, RDC, Lint, DFT, STA, and LEC tools.
• Prior experience in customer-facing or field engineering roles supporting IP integration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with a focus on VLSI design. (Degree explicitly stated in the source.)
