Position Overview

In this role, you will work directly with customers as a part of the sales team to provide technical selling support for Siemens' FPGA Prototyping products. Your focus will be on enhancing customer satisfaction and productivity by assisting in the sales and deployment of our FPGA solutions, leveraging both remote support and on-site engagement as necessary.

Role Summary

The Applications Engineering Consultant for FPGA Prototyping is tasked with deploying Siemens FPGA hardware and software solutions, driving technical qualifications during evaluation phases, and supporting the Americas' sales team directly. Collaboration with sales management and account teams is essential to uncover business opportunities and to ensure that client requirements are met effectively.

Experience Level

This position requires a level of expertise suited for professionals who have substantial experience; we specifically seek candidates with over 5 years in the design, verification, and prototyping of electronics chips and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to drive business growth through technical expertise during product evaluations.
  • Deploy software and hardware solutions related to FPGA prototyping.
  • Foster and enhance customer relationships to improve satisfaction over the long term.
  • Identify technical obstacles and provide troubleshooting support.
  • Deliver training and demonstrations of Siemens products to customers.
  • Develop comprehensive technical presentations to communicate product updates.
  • Gather customer feedback for product development teams to enhance offerings.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a comprehensive set of technical skills and industry experience, including:

  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog, and VHDL for RTL design.
  • Hands-on experience in ASIC/FPGA implementation techniques.
  • Utilization of scripting languages like Python, Perl, and various types of shell scripts.
  • Familiarity with FPGA design tools, particularly proFPGA, Xilinx Vivado, and Altera Quartus.
  • Skills in verification methodologies involving SystemVerilog and C/C++.
  • Strong interpersonal communication capabilities and a competitive nature.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% to engage with clients across North America.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is mandatory for this position.
