Applications Engineering Consultant - Emulation
Role Summary
Provide technical sales support and deployment services for Siemens EDA emulation and prototyping products, working with the Americas sales team and customers in semiconductor and electronics industries.
Ensure successful product evaluations and deployments, map Siemens solutions to customer workflows, and relay product feedback to development and marketing teams.
Experience Level
Senior β 7+ years of experience in design, verification, simulation, emulation/prototyping of electronic chips and systems or equivalent applications-engineer experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Support sales during technical evaluations, demonstrations, and product trials.
- Deploy and validate Siemens emulation/prototyping solutions (Veloce Strato) at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and remove obstacles to meet evaluation and deployment milestones.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, demos, and customer training.
- Collaborate with area sales management, account teams, product development, and product marketing.
- Build and maintain peer-level technical relationships with customer engineering teams.
- Travel within North America as required (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Technical must-haves and preferred skills.
Must-have:
- Hands-on experience with industry emulation systems (Veloce, Palladium, ZeBu) and simulation environments (Questa, Incisive, VCS).
- ASIC/chip design or verification experience; familiarity with RTL, behavioral coding, and ASIC debug.
- Experience with SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL and verification methodologies (UVM/OVM).
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, Perl, shell, Tcl, sed/awk).
- Ability to integrate or extend tools via scripting, APIs, or environment configuration and to articulate cross-platform solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills and proven ability to build customer relationships.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with C/C++ and SystemC in verification or modeling contexts.
- Familiarity with Transaction Level Modeling (TLM) and system-level methodologies.
- Knowledge of competitive EDA environments and how to position Siemens solutions technically.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (BS or MS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
