Applications Engineering Consultant - Emulation
Role Summary
Provide technical sales and deployment support for Siemens EDA emulation and prototyping products, working with customers and the Americas sales team. The role focuses on technical evaluations, customer enablement, and mapping Siemens solutions to customer design flows.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 7+ years' experience in chip/system design, verification, simulation, emulation or prototyping, or recent experience as an applications engineer in a relevant field.
Responsibilities
Work directly with customers and sales to drive product evaluations, deployments, and long-term adoption of emulation solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise during product evaluations and deployments of Siemens Emulation (Veloce Strato).
- Collaborate with sales, account teams, and area management to define technical requirements and opportunities.
- Troubleshoot customer design and integration issues; remove technical obstacles to successful evaluations.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, demos, and training for customers.
- Collect and communicate customer feedback and requirements to product development and marketing teams.
- Integrate and extend tools through scripting, APIs, or environment configuration as needed for customer workflows.
- Build peer-level technical relationships with customer engineers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Travel within North America as required (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.
- 7+ years' practical experience in design, verification, simulation, emulation/prototyping of ASICs or systems, or equivalent applications engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with industry emulation solutions (Veloce, Palladium, ZeBu) and simulators (Questa, Incisive, VCS) and verification methodologies (OVM/UVM).
- Strong RTL knowledge and ASIC debug experience; familiarity with SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL and behavioral coding.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Perl, sed/awk, tcl/sh) and experience integrating tools into customer flows.
- Experience with C/C++ and SystemC in chip design/verification contexts is highly desired.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence technical stakeholders.
- Ability to map Siemens EDA solutions to customer workflows and to differentiate them against competitive environments.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
