Applications Engineer, Semiconductor Power Integrity
Role Summary
Customer-facing applications engineer responsible for enabling adoption and successful tape-out of transistor-level power-integrity and analog signoff solutions. The role works with Sales, R&D, and Product Marketing to deliver pre-sales evaluations, training, methodology, and post-sales tapeout support.
Based in Haifa or Raanana, Israel, supporting semiconductor customers across Israel and focusing on Totem and related Synopsys signoff products.
Experience Level
Mid-level β at least 3 years of relevant semiconductor design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical customer engagements, benchmarks, training, and cross-functional feedback.
- Support customers using Totem and related signoff simulation tools from evaluation through production tape-out.
- Run competitive benchmarks and product evaluations on customer designs and present results to engineering and management stakeholders.
- Deliver hands-on training, methodology development, and tapeout support to ensure correct use of signoff flows.
- Partner with Sales to identify technical challenges, propose solutions, and demonstrate value that drives product adoption and retention.
- Provide advanced support on power-grid extraction, noise analysis, ESD protection, and embedded memory/IP characterization.
- Develop automation scripts and utilities (Perl, Tcl, Python) to streamline workflows and troubleshoot tool issues.
- Collaborate with R&D and Product Marketing to relay customer feedback and influence product roadmaps.
Requirements
Key technical skills and professional experience required or preferred.

Must have: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in analog backend design flow, transistor-level power integrity analysis, and physical design in a production environment.

Must have: Deep practical knowledge of analog circuit design, power-grid extraction, noise analysis, and ESD protection methodologies.

Must have: Experience with layout/CAD tools, extraction formats such as SPEF/DSPF, and analog simulation used in production designs.

Must have: Proficiency with UNIX/Linux and scripting (Perl, Tcl, or Python) for automation and debugging.

Must have: Strong English communication skills and experience communicating technical results to engineers and management.

Preferred / Nice-to-have: Prior customer-facing experience in applications engineering, field applications, or design services.

Preferred / Nice-to-have: Familiarity with competitive signoff and power-integrity tools and experience running competitive evaluations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. The posting specifies a minimum of 3 years' experience in semiconductor design (analog backend, simulation, and physical design).
