Applications Engineer, MPP

Role Summary

Provide application support for battery charging products, driving product characterization, evaluation board development, and post-ramp customer support. Work with systems and product teams to ensure successful design-in, validate new silicon, and produce reference designs and technical documentation.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities include customer support, evaluation and validation, and technical documentation.

  • Respond to customer questions via forums and email and support design-in activities for released products.
  • Perform schematic and PCB layout reviews of customer applications.
  • Recreate and debug customer issues using evaluation boards and customer hardware; provide on-site support when required.
  • Design evaluation modules (EVMs) and internal test boards; create user guides and test procedures and manage EVM releases.
  • Perform bench characterization for battery charging devices, including bench automation and test-hardware development.
  • Participate in datasheet review and early silicon testing from an application perspective, including robustness and destructive testing.
  • Create custom reference designs and write application notes to illustrate use cases and implementation guidance.

Must-have:

  • Practical hardware and software debugging skills.
  • Experience designing schematics and PCB layouts for analog power circuits.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation (user guides, test procedures, application notes).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across functions to deliver projects on time.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience supporting DC/DC converters or battery-charging products in customer-facing roles.
  • Experience with bench automation and development of test hardware.
  • Proven ability to provide on-site customer support and reproduce field issues.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or a related field is required (the posting specifies "Bachelor's degree"). The posting also specifies a minimum of 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
