Applications Engineer, DCC CTS
Role Summary
Provide application support for TI clock and timing devices throughout product characterization, ramp and post-ramp production. Work with customers and internal teams to enable design-in, reproduce and debug issues, and deliver evaluation hardware and documentation to support customer adoption.
This role sits on the clock/timing applications team focused on evaluation, characterization, and customer support for released and new silicon.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early Career β approximately 2 years of relevant experience (minimum requirement).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include direct customer support, evaluation hardware development, and testing.
- Respond to customer questions via forum, email and other channels; support design-in activities for released products.
- Perform schematic and PCB layout reviews of customer applications.
- Recreate and debug customer issues on evaluation boards and customer boards; provide on-site support when required.
- Design and release EVMs and internal evaluation boards to support correlation and product evaluation.
- Create user guides, test procedures, application notes and other technical documentation.
- Participate in datasheet reviews to ensure completeness from an application perspective.
- Perform bench characterization of clocking devices, including bench automation, hardware design and test technique development.
- Support new-silicon testing from an application viewpoint, including robustness and destructive testing.
- Work with systems engineers on early design-in support and develop custom reference designs for customer implementations.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for performing the role.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in applications or product support.
- Experience supporting analog products in an applications role.
- Solid hardware and software debugging skills, including ability to reproduce customer issues in lab environments.
- Proven ability to produce clear, high-quality technical documentation (user guides, test procedures, application notes).
- Practical knowledge of PLLs and VCOs.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE or a related technical field is specified as required.
