Role Summary

The Applications Engineer provides technical pre-sales support for SoC verification, qualifying customers, running technical product evaluations, and performing on-site deployments. The role collaborates with R&D and the sales team to develop verification solutions and relay customer feedback to influence product development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer-facing technical work, evaluation, and deployment of verification solutions.

  • Qualify potential customers and assess technical fit for the product.
  • Conduct technical product evaluations and proof-of-concept activities.
  • Perform on-site deployments and customer support during integration.
  • Work with sales on account planning and solution definition for customer problems.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and R&D; relay customer feedback to influence product direction.
  • Debug and resolve complex software/verification issues encountered by customers.
  • Evangelize verification methodologies and customer workflows to promote correct usage.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed (typically 10–20%).

Requirements

  • Must-have: Strong C/C++ and/or SystemVerilog/UVM coding skills and proven ability to debug complex software.
  • Must-have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must-have: Willingness to travel typically 10–20% to support customers.
  • Must-have: Comfortable working in a startup/early-stage environment and engaging in pre-sales/consulting activities.
  • Nice-to-have: Expertise with verification methodologies such as VMM, OVM, or UVM.
  • Experience with simulation-based verification using constrained-random testbenches.
  • Hands-on participation in full-chip SoC verification, including testbench and embedded code.
  • Familiarity with post-simulation validation such as in-circuit emulation and prototyping.
  • History of technical pre-sales or consulting engagements at customer sites.

Education Requirements

Required: BSEE or BSCS. Preferred: MSEE or MSCS.
