Job Title

Applications Engineer

Role Summary

The Applications Engineer will support customers in evaluating, deploying, and integrating Breker verification solutions for complex system-on-chip (SoC) designs. This role works closely with customers, the sales team, and R&D to qualify opportunities, run technical evaluations, perform on-site deployments, and relay customer feedback to product development.

Successful candidates will help customers achieve production-ready SoC verification flows and may travel occasionally to customer sites.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical enablement, customer support during evaluations and deployments, and close collaboration with sales and engineering.

  • Technically qualify prospective customers and define evaluation scopes.
  • Participate in product evaluations, demonstrations, and on-site deployments.
  • Work with customers to develop verification solutions addressing their SoC challenges.
  • Translate customer issues and feature requests to R&D and influence product roadmap.
  • Support account planning and pre-sales technical activities alongside sales teams.
  • Provide customer training, troubleshooting, and post-deployment follow-up.

Requirements

Key technical and interpersonal requirements.

  • Must-have: Strong C/C++ and/or SystemVerilog/UVM coding skills and practices, including the ability to debug complex software.
  • Must-have: Excellent written and oral communication skills for internal and external interactions.
  • Must-have: Willingness to travel as needed (typically 10–20%).
  • Must-have: Eagerness to work in a startup environment and support adoption of new verification technology.
  • Nice-to-have: Expertise in standard verification methodologies (VMM, OVM, UVM), experience with constrained-random testbenches, full-chip SoC verification (testbench and embedded code), post-simulation validation (emulation/prototyping), and prior technical pre-sales/consulting at customer sites.

Education Requirements

Required: BSEE or BS in Computer Science (BSCS). Preferred: MSEE or MS in Computer Science. Fields mentioned include Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. No certifications or equivalent-experience language specified.
