Role Summary

Provide technical support and methodology development for physical implementation and synthesis flows, working with customers and internal R&D to improve performance, power, and area (PPA) and enable adoption of new technology nodes. Join the Applications Engineering team in Bengaluru to troubleshoot designs, develop flow optimizations, and translate customer issues into product requirements.

Experience Level

Entry-level — 0–2 years of relevant experience (including internships, academic projects, or early-career roles).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on solving implementation and verification challenges, developing methodologies, and enabling customer success.

• Solve PPA (performance, power, area) challenges using Synopsys implementation technologies, including AI/ML-enabled implementation and physical synthesis flows.
• Address formal verification and early power estimation problems using current tools and flows.
• Benchmark Synopsys solutions against competitors and demonstrate improvements in quality-of-results.
• Develop, debug, and optimize synthesis and implementation methodologies for emerging semiconductor technologies.
• Identify design and EDA tool issues, provide technical resolutions, and document actionable next steps for customers and R&D.
• Deploy new tool features and enable customer migration to latest EDA versions to achieve improved PPA.
• Collaborate with product and R&D teams to convert customer feedback into feature requirements.

Requirements

Key skills and experience expected for successful performance in this role.

• Must-have: Familiarity with synthesis, physical design, or ASIC implementation workflows and methodology changes aimed at meeting PPA targets.
• Practical scripting and automation skills (TCL, Unix shell); experience using scripts for automation and debugging.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to communicate technical findings clearly to customers and internal teams.
• Customer-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with formal verification tools and flows; prior benchmarking or competitive analysis experience; familiarity with AI/ML implementation techniques.

Education Requirements

B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field from a recognized institution; equivalent practical experience (internships, academic projects, or early-career roles) is acceptable.
