Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Work with Arm partners to support integration and optimisation of Arm CPU and System IP within customer SoC designs. The role combines hands-on debugging, technical guidance, training, and cross-team collaboration to ensure successful product development.

Responsibilities
Provide technical support, analysis, and guidance to partners using Arm CPU and System IP.
- Provide timely technical guidance on Arm CPU and System IP to partner engineering teams.
- Investigate and debug technical issues in partner SoC integrations and propose solutions.
- Develop and deliver technical training on CPU and System IP.
- Review customer SoC designs that incorporate Arm IP and recommend functional and performance optimisations.
- Collaborate with Arm IP design and product teams to improve partner experience and inform future IP development.
- Test IP deliverables and provide feedback to design teams ahead of customer releases.
- Create and maintain technical knowledge-base articles and application notes.
- Develop tools and techniques to improve investigation and problem-resolution efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience required for daily tasks.
Must-have
- Strong knowledge of HDLs: Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
- Very good understanding of CPU architecture principles and SoC design principles.
- Familiarity with system coherency concepts.
- Experience using RTL simulation and debug tools (e.g. QuestaSim, Verdi, Cadence SimVision, Xcelium).
- Ability to work effectively with remote and distributed teams.
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of one or more AMBA bus protocols.
- Familiarity with the Arm Architecture.
- Experience with PCIe, CXL, and/or UCIe specifications.
Education Requirements
BSc degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (ECE) or equivalent practical experience. The posting specifies degree-level technical qualification in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
