Application Engineering, Staff Engineer - Physical Verification (Runset Development)

Role Summary

The Staff Engineer in Application Engineering will focus on Physical Verification (PV) with an emphasis on Runset Development. This role involves developing and validating runsets for cutting-edge semiconductor technologies while collaborating closely with foundries and internal teams.

Mid-level; 5-8 years of industry experience in Physical Verification.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and validating DRC, LVS, and Fill runsets using the Synopsys IC Validator tool.
• Collaborating with foundries to meet process requirements for advanced nodes.
• Automating qualification processes for runsets with scripting.
• Troubleshooting and resolving layout verification issues.
• Engaging with customers and providing technical support.
• Mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Keeping abreast of EDA tool advancements and foundry innovations.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• B.Tech, M.Tech, or MS in Electronics, VLSI, or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in Physical Verification.
• Proficiency in EDA tools such as IC Validator, Calibre, and Pegasus.
• Strong scripting skills in Perl, Tcl, and Python.
• Deep understanding of CMOS layout and ASIC design flows.
• Experience writing and debugging DRC, LVS, ERC, and DFM rule decks.
• Familiarity with competitive EDA tools.

Education Requirements

B.Tech, M.Tech, or MS in Electronics, VLSI, or a related field.
