Application Engineer (Prototyping)
Role Summary
Provide technical sales and deployment support for Siemens FPGA prototyping hardware and software to customers in Korea. Work with sales, product, and engineering teams to qualify opportunities, run evaluations, and ensure successful on-site prototyping and verification engagements.
Experience Level
Mid-level (recommended 2β7 years of relevant design/verification or application engineering experience).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on customer-facing technical work to drive product adoption and successful prototyping deployments.
- Engage with customers alongside sales to qualify technical opportunities and define evaluation criteria.
- Deploy and configure Siemens FPGA prototyping hardware and software at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during bring-up and verification; resolve multi-FPGA, timing, and interface problems.
- Execute technical benchmarks, demonstrations, and presentations to show product capabilities and updates.
- Collect and communicate customer technical feedback to product and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with R&D, product management, and sales to support account success and long-term customer relationships.
Requirements
Key technical and interpersonal requirements. Must-haves are listed first; items in parentheses are nice-to-have.
- 2+ years of experience in design engineering, functional verification, emulation/prototyping, or related application-engineer roles.
- Strong RTL experience with SystemVerilog, Verilog and/or VHDL.
- Experience with ASIC and/or FPGA implementation flow: synthesis, static timing analysis, place & route.
- Experience with multi-FPGA bring-up, multiple clock domains, and asynchronous interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with industry FPGA tools (for example Xilinx Vivado, Intel/Altera Quartus).
- Familiarity with SoC design and verification methodologies and computer architecture (interfaces and memory subsystems).
- Proficient scripting skills (Perl, Python, Makefile) and working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.
- Good English communication skills (written and oral) and willingness to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
- (Nice-to-have) Experience with SystemVerilog UVM, SystemC, and C/C++ for subsystem/SoC level verification.
Education Requirements
BS or MS (or equivalent practical experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
