Role Summary

As an Application Engineer II on the Digital and Signoff team you will provide technical support and enable customers to deploy logical and physical implementation tools (Genus, Modus, Innovus, Conformal, Tempus). You will work directly with customer engineering teams to diagnose issues, develop solution tests, and deliver resolutions across front-end and back-end flows.

The role involves creating technical collateral, advising on methodologies, and collaborating with global peers and product teams to improve customer outcomes.

Mid-level (Application Engineer II).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support for synthesis, place-and-route, and signoff tool flows.
  • Collaborate with customer engineers to reproduce issues, create verification tests, and implement fixes.
  • Advise customers on best practices, methodologies, and tool selection for logical and physical implementation.
  • Develop technical collateral such as application notes and support articles.
  • Coordinate with global internal teams to prioritize customer issues and help differentiate product solutions.
  • Participate in customer engagements, including IC tape-out preparation and verification activities.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

  • Must-have: Good RTL understanding (Verilog or VHDL); exposure to synthesis or place-and-route methodologies or signoff timing; experience with microelectronics or EDA front-end or back-end flows; scripting experience in TCL and Python; strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills; proven participation in IC tape-outs; customer-facing mindset.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Cadence digital tools (Genus, Innovus, Modus, Conformal, Tempus).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (completion required). No alternative-equivalent experience language specified in the posting.
