Application Engineer Consultant (Aprisa)
Role Summary
Responsible for technical selling, evaluation, and customer enablement of Siemens EDA Aprisa digital implementation solutions. Works with account managers and cross-functional teams to define and execute technical evaluations, drive product adoption, and support customers through deployment and tape-out.
The role focuses on converting technical engagements into business opportunities and ensuring successful customer production use of Siemens EDA digital implementation products.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 7+ years of industry experience in EDA or digital IC physical design.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with account managers to determine sales execution strategy and qualify opportunities.
- Define and execute technical evaluations, benchmarks, and proof-of-concept campaigns.
- Enable Aprisa adoption and integration into customer production flows.
- Provide advanced product support, debugging, and root-cause analysis across P&R stages.
- Engage with senior customer stakeholders to drive product adoption and uncover new business.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Minimum 7+ years in EDA or digital IC physical design (senior-level experience).
- Hands-on experience with commercial place-and-route tools such as Synopsys ICC2/IC, Cadence Innovus, or Aprisa.
- Experience leading or participating in IC tape-outs, P&R evaluations, or benchmarking engagements at advanced nodes.
- Expertise in core P&R stages: floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, and static timing analysis; strong root-cause debugging skills.
- Knowledge of netlist-to-tape-out flow with focus on meeting power-performance-area (PPA) and time-to-results (TTR) goals.
- Understanding of hierarchical design and low-power design techniques.
- Customer-facing experience and ability to work with sales, product management, R&D, and marketing teams.
- Fluent verbal and written communication in English and Taiwanese (Mandarin).
Nice-to-have:
- TCL, Perl, or Python scripting experience.
- Advanced familiarity with Aprisa or other Siemens EDA products.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering required. Master's degree in VLSI or Microelectronics is a plus.
