Job Title

Application Engineer, Calibre Semi Manufacturing (OPC/RET)

Role Summary

The Application Engineer will join the European Calibre Foundry/Semi Manufacturing Solution team to design, develop, and deploy Calibre-based OPC/RET solutions for customers. The role combines technical support, solution development, and customer engagement across local and international accounts.

The position is customer-facing within a small, high-performing application engineering team and works closely with product and R&D groups to enable production deployment of computational lithography technologies.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 5+ years of industry experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly with OPC/Computational Lithography or related flows.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on technical leadership, solution development, and customer enablement related to computational lithography.

  • Act as a subject-matter expert in computational lithography (OPC/RET) to solve customer problems.
  • Design and develop solutions for OPC modeling, advanced mask correction, and fab defect inspection/review.
  • Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training on Calibre OPC/RET/MPC platforms.
  • Drive adoption and production deployment of Calibre products within the design-to-mask flow.
  • Collaborate with product and R&D teams to deploy the latest computational lithography technology.
  • Travel to customer sites in Europe, North America, and Asia as required.

Requirements

Essential technical and professional requirements. Education items are listed separately below.

  • Must-have: Practical experience with OPC/Computational Lithography, OPC modeling, advanced mask flows, or defect inspection flows.
  • Must-have: Intermediate programming skills (Python, Tcl, or C/C++).
  • Must-have: Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and familiarity with scripting.
  • Must-have: Background in modeling and simulation related to optics, electromagnetic waves, or photoresist.
  • Must-have: Strong technical communication skills and customer-facing experience (presentations, demos, training).
  • Nice-to-have: Direct experience with Siemens Calibre OPC/RET platform.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior work in semiconductor fabs or close collaboration with manufacturing teams.

Education Requirements

M.Sc./M.Eng or Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
