Role Summary

Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to Tier 1 customers designing products with Broadcom's InP optical components, with the goal of securing design wins and ensuring successful product launches.

Work cross-functionally with field applications, development, production engineering, quality, sales, and marketing to analyze customer requirements, debug issues, and contribute to product definition and roadmap.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting specifies advanced experience: Master’s degree plus 10+ years, or PhD plus 7+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include pre-sales and post-sales customer support, technical problem solving, and collaboration across product teams.

• Act as technical lead for customers using high-speed EML/PD and CW DFB components.
• Provide pre-sales support and technical guidance via email, phone, and on-site visits.
• Analyze customer architectures and requirements to recommend solutions and validate designs.
• Debug complex issues during customer evaluations and product bring-up.
• Contribute to product definition and roadmap based on customer feedback and market needs.
• Coordinate with internal teams (development, production engineering, quality, sales) to resolve issues and support launches.
• Travel to customer sites as required for support and integration activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities.

• Strong background in optoelectronics, component physics, or technical applications engineering supporting optical components.
• Proven experience supporting Tier 1 customers and managing technical customer interactions.
• Ability to debug complex hardware and integration issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for direct customer engagement.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites when required.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior field applications engineering experience.
• Experience in AI/Datacenter optical deployments and product roadmap activities.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Optoelectronics with 10+ years of related experience, or PhD with 7+ years of related experience.
