APC Engineer (Dispatching & Scheduling) (m/w/d)
Vishay SiliconixJob Title
APC Engineer (Dispatching & Scheduling) (m/w/d)
Role Summary
Work on production dispatching and scheduling for a semiconductor manufacturing site, operating as the central interface between manufacturing, engineering, planning and IT. The role focuses on configuring and improving APC dispatching rules, maintaining lot and equipment plans, ensuring stable WIP flows, and raising transparency via reports and dashboards.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify required years of experience.
Responsibilities
Core tasks and ownership areas for the role:
- Create, maintain, and optimize equipment, line, and lot plans.
- Ensure stable WIP flows, short lead times, and efficient capacity utilization.
- Configure, maintain, and develop dispatching rules in APC systems (e.g., Flexciton, Final Phase Systems).
- Model complex manufacturing logic: priorities, setup constraints, batching, rework flows, hot‑lot handling, hold logic.
- Identify and relieve bottlenecks using data analysis, simulations, and what‑if scenarios.
- Ensure data quality in MES, routing/recipe data, qualifications, and calendar data (e.g., PM, engineering).
- Monitor production metrics (cycle time, OEE, utilization) and analyze deviations and disruptions.
- Develop standards, reports, and dashboards to improve transparency and performance.
Requirements
Required technical skills, tools, and personal attributes. Education requirements are listed separately below.
Must-have:
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and production equipment.
- Basic knowledge of scheduling and dispatching methods and experience working with APC/dispatch systems.
- Programming or scripting skills for automation, data handling, or rule implementation.
- Basic understanding of factory IT architecture (e.g., MES, SPC, R2R, automation systems).
- Strong analytical ability to interpret complex data and build visualizations.
- Fluent written and spoken German and English.
- Good communication and cross‑functional interface skills; ability to work independently and in a structured manner.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with specific APC tools such as Flexciton or Final Phase Systems.
- Experience creating simulation or what‑if scenarios to test scheduling changes.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Physics, Microsystems Engineering (focus on microelectronics/semiconductor physics), or a comparable qualification, or equivalent practical experience. (The source lists degree-level or comparable qualification; no specific certification requirement was stated.)
