Analog Validation Engineer
NXP SemiconductorsJob Title
Analog Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for bench characterization and validation of analog IP and mixed-signal subsystems to verify functional and electrical performance across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners. Works on characterization for ADCs, DACs, PLLs, USB, voltage regulators, oscillators, DDR, low-power domains and IO pads for devices targeted at Automotive, Industrial and select Consumer Electronics markets.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Years of experience not specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing test methodologies, automating measurement setups, and supporting design evaluation.
- Design and implement bench characterization methodologies for ADC, DAC, PLL, USB, VREG, OSC, DDR, low-power circuits, and IO pads to measure datasheet parameters across PVT combinations.
- Develop automated code and scripts to control test equipment, collect data, and process characterization results.
- Perform design evaluation and bench characterization for analog IPs during device development.
- Provide requirements and review schematics and PCB layouts to ensure signal integrity and testability of evaluation boards.
- Document test procedures, results, and derived electrical parameters for use in datasheets and verification sign-off.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and responsibilities required to perform the role.
- Experience with bench characterization of analog and mixed-signal blocks (ADC/DAC/PLL/OSC/VREG/IO/DDR).
- Proficiency in writing automated test code to control instrumentation and to process measurement data.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, data acquisition, signal generators) and test setups.
- Ability to develop test methodologies that exercise devices across process, voltage, and temperature variations.
- Ability to review schematics and PCB layouts with an emphasis on signal integrity and measurement fidelity.
- Effective documentation and communication of test plans, results, and issues to cross-functional teams.
