Job Title
Analog Test Chip Industry Immersion Intern
Role Summary
Full-time, six-month internship on a post-silicon analog validation team. The intern will help characterize and qualify analog and mixed-signal IP on silicon across production test and lab validation platforms.
Work includes executing test plans, analyzing measurement data, debugging silicon behavior, developing automation, and delivering milestone documentation for engineering audiences.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students currently enrolled in a degree program. This is a hands-on role intended for early-career candidates seeking industry immersion.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include:
- Execute test plans on production testers and laboratory benches.
- Perform sweeps across varying conditions and collect measurement data.
- Analyze measurement results using statistical tools and debug discrepancies against expected silicon behavior.
- Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline data collection, log parsing, and report generation.
- Own a scoped validation task end-to-end and contribute milestone documentation for broader engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills for initial consideration and strong candidacy.
-
Must-have: Experience with scripting languages, emphasis on Python.
-
Must-have: Experience with simulation and/or validation using hardware description languages (HDLs).
-
Must-have: Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
-
Must-have: Permanent, unrestricted right to work in Costa Rica; on-site presence required.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with C#.
-
Nice-to-have: Coursework, projects, or lab experience in analog/mixed-signal design areas (PLLs, voltage regulators, reference circuits, thermal sensors, high-speed or memory interfaces, clocking).
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, source meters, thermal forcing systems) and waveform debug environments.
-
Nice-to-have: Exposure to statistical data analysis tools and experience automating data collection or report generation.
-
Nice-to-have: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; self-motivated and willing to learn.
Education Requirements
Enrollment in a bachelor's, licenciatura, or master's degree program in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent practical/academic experience) is required.
