Role Summary

Join a data center infrastructure team designing and verifying high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits for next-generation optical interconnect and high-speed memory tester products. Work targets data rates up to 224 Gbps for NRZ, PAM4, LPO, and CPO optical applications and high-bandwidth memory tester applications.

The role covers circuit design, mixed-signal simulation, pre-tapeout verification, lab characterization, and collaboration with layout, test, digital, and applications teams to deliver products from concept through production.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, simulation, and lab support for high-speed analog/mixed-signal IP and systems.

  • Design and verify analog/mixed-signal blocks such as CDRs, PLLs, high-speed samplers, TIAs, equalizers (CTLE), VGAs, and output drivers for NRZ, PAM4, LPO, and CPO applications up to 224 Gbps.
  • Design and verify high-speed mixed-signal circuits for HBM memory tester applications.
  • Develop behavioral models of CDR/PLLs to inform architecture and block-level requirements.
  • Run block-level and top-level mixed-signal simulations and pre-tapeout verification to confirm performance, power, reliability, and timing.
  • Define production and bench-level test plans and work with lab engineers to take and analyze measurements for IP validation, yield analysis, and bug fixes.
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate with senior engineers, digital design, layout, test, and applications teams.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills, excluding formal degree requirements (see Education Requirements).

  • Basic understanding of CDR and PLL architectures and specifications.
  • Exposure to mixed-signal simulation tools and flows (for example: Cadence Spectre, AMS Designer) through coursework, internships, or project work.
  • Familiarity with Cadence design and verification tools (Virtuoso, Spectre) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with layout techniques for high-speed circuits is a plus.
  • Experience with high-power DC-DC buck converter design for data center applications is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Education Requirements

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (M.S.E.E.) with focus on analog/mixed-signal IC design, or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) with a relevant graduation project. Coursework or project experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design in deep sub-micron CMOS technologies is expected; internship or practical lab experience is beneficial.
