Job Title
Analog/mixed-signal IC Design Engineer - Acacia (Hybrid)
Role Summary
Member of the Acacia mixed-signal IC design team developing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits for optical transceivers (100Gβ1.6T+). Responsible for architecture, circuit design, layout, measurement and productization of ultra-deep sub-micron CMOS ICs in a cross-functional, hybrid-working environment.
Experience Level
Senior. Hiring guidance: Bachelor's +8 years, Master's +6 years, or PhD +3 years of related experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver complex mixed-signal IC blocks from concept through production and collaborate across functional teams.
- Architect, design, simulate, layout and characterize high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits for optical communications.
- Lead design efforts for large blocks, mentor junior engineers, and track project deliverables.
- Perform peer reviews and establish robust design methodology and verification plans.
- Collaborate with digital/DSP, system, package, module and hardware teams to meet signal and power integrity specifications.
- Plan and execute laboratory validation and test setups; analyze measurements and iterate designs to meet manufacturability and performance targets.
Requirements
Core technical must-haves and preferred skills.
- Must-have: Design, simulation and measurement experience with high-speed ICs in at least three of the following areas: serializers/deserializers/data converters, system link modeling, high-performance output drivers, phase-locked loops, clock distribution, opamps/programmable gain amplifiers, or equalization techniques.
- Must-have: Hands-on high-speed analog design, layout and characterization in modern CMOS processes.
- Must-have: Experience leading complex IC blocks and working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre/APS/SpectreX, Calibre, EMX, AMS mixed-signal simulations, and MATLAB.
- Preferred: Experience with FinFET/GAA technologies, high-frequency layout (floorplanning, power/ground, routing), design-for-manufacturability (PVT characterization, electromigration, self-heating, IR drop), and ESD laboratory practices.
Education Requirements
Minimum academic experience: Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of related experience, or Master's degree plus 6 years, or PhD plus 3 years of related experience.
