Job Title

Analog/mixed-signal IC Design Engineer - Acacia

Role Summary

Member of a small mixed-signal IC design team developing high-speed analog circuits for optical transceivers (100G–1.6T+). The role covers architecture, design, layout, measurement and productization of ultra-deep-submicron CMOS ICs and cross-team collaboration with digital/DSP, system, package and module design groups.

Experience Level

Senior-level (role expects significant prior experience designing high-speed analog/mixed-signal ICs).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include hands-on analog/mixed-signal IC design and leading large design blocks through tape-out and productization.

  • Architect, design, simulate, layout, measure and productize high-speed AMS CMOS circuits.
  • Lead design efforts for large blocks, mentor junior engineers, and track deliverables.
  • Perform peer reviews and establish robust design methodology from conception to production.
  • Collaborate with digital/DSP, system, package and module teams to meet signal and power integrity targets.
  • Develop laboratory validation plans and participate in silicon bring-up and characterization.

Requirements

Key technical must-haves and preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Proven experience in design, simulation and measurement of high-speed ICs, including experience in at least three of the following areas: High-speed serial links (serdes, serializers/deserializers, data converters), system link modeling, high-performance output drivers, phase-locked loops, clock transmission/propagation, op amps/programmable gain amplifiers, and equalization techniques.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with circuit simulation and mixed-signal verification tools and flows.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with transceiver applications (backplane and cable), FinFET/GAA process technologies, high-frequency layout and floorplanning, and design-for-manufacturability analyses (PVT characterization, electromigration, self-heating, IR drop).
  • Nice-to-have: Laboratory validation experience including ESD methodology and building test setups.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre/APS/SpectreX, Calibre, EMX, AMS mixed-signal simulation flows, and Matlab.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications: Bachelors + 8 years related experience, or Masters + 6 years related experience, or PhD + 3 years related experience (equivalent practical experience considered where stated).
