Job Title

Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design high-speed electrical and photonic transceivers for AI, cloud, and high-performance computing applications, focusing on analog/mixed-signal ICs and integration with silicon photonics.

Work on 100G/lane PAM4+ SerDes and silicon-photonics-based transceivers; responsibilities include EIC/PIC partitioning, co-simulation, silicon bring-up, and system integration. Compensation range: $200,000–$300,000 base plus bonus and equity.

Experience Level

Senior-level — experienced analog/mixed-signal engineer. Advanced technical experience expected; see Education Requirements for degree preferences.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, simulation, and cross-discipline integration of high-speed analog and electro-optic systems.

  • Design high-speed analog/mixed-signal blocks: drivers, TIAs, PLLs, CDRs, ADC/DACs, and SerDes interfaces.
  • Develop electro-optic systems and perform co-simulation with photonic devices (MRM, MZM, EAM, PD).
  • Define electrical IC / photonic IC partitioning and calculate high-speed link budgets.
  • Collaborate on packaging, signal/power integrity (SI/PI), DSP partitioning, and system-level integration.
  • Support silicon bring-up, lab debug, and production ramp.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Strong high-speed analog CMOS design background.
  • Familiarity with SerDes or optical transceiver architectures (experience with PAM4 links preferred).
  • Experience with Cadence toolflow and scripting/analysis using MATLAB or Python.
  • Understanding of optical link metrics such as BER, TDECQ, and OMA.

Nice-to-have

  • Exposure to silicon photonics.
  • Verilog-A or photonic modeling experience; Lumerical tool exposure.
  • Experience with CPO/advanced optical packaging and lab bring-up of high-speed or electro-optic silicon.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field preferred (listed in original posting). No explicit mention of acceptable equivalent experience was provided.
