Job Title

Analog/Mixed Signal ASIC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver high-performance, low-power mixed-signal IP (SerDes, DDR, PLL, DAC, ADC, sensors, etc.) for SoCs and RF products. Work within the Mixed-Signal IP (MSIP) team alongside architects, analog/mixed-signal and digital designers, and system experts.

Role covers architecture definition, schematic design, simulation, verification support, and collaboration through layout, post-silicon bring-up, and production support.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Candidates typically have multiple years of hands-on analog or mixed-signal ASIC experience; exact experience expectations vary by degree and role seniority.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, simulation, verification support, and cross-team integration of mixed-signal IP.

  • Define analog IP architecture and participate in analog/digital partitioning.
  • Create schematics and perform circuit simulations using Cadence Virtuoso and SPICE.
  • Collaborate with layout, digital, verification, and system teams to implement and deliver IP to SoC customers.
  • Support post-silicon verification, bring-up, debugging, and production issues with product test teams.
  • Develop and document design trade-offs, test strategies, and integration constraints for mixed-signal IP.

Requirements

Concise list of required and preferred technical skills and experience. Education credentials are summarized separately below.

  • Must-have: Practical experience with analog schematic capture and circuit simulation (Cadence Virtuoso and SPICE-style simulators).
  • Must-have: Experience with ASIC design flows and IP delivery processes; ability to work with layout and digital teams on implementation and verification.
  • Must-have: Experience supporting post-silicon bring-up, debug, and production support.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with one or more design tools such as MATLAB, Verilog/VHDL, or equivalent simulation/scripting tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Industry experience designing mixed-signal IPs (SerDes, DDR, PLL, DAC, ADC, sensors), familiarity with MATLAB and Python for modeling, and knowledge of design-for-yield and sampled-domain signal processing.

Education Requirements

Degrees accepted: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field. The posting specifies degree-and-experience combinations (examples from the source): Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with relevant analog/mixed-signal experience; OR Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field; OR PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field. Equivalent practical experience is considered as reflected in the stated degree-plus-experience minimums.
