Role Summary

Join the Analog Mixed Signal Layout team in Singapore to gain hands-on experience translating circuit designs into physical IC layouts for high-speed connectivity and broadband analog applications. Work under mentorship to deliver layout for analog and mixed-signal blocks, participate in reviews, and collaborate with cross-location design teams.

May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. applicants may be subject to export license review.

Entry-level internship. Suitable for students seeking practical IC layout experience under supervision.

Responsibilities

Primary tasks and deliverables for this internship include:

• Assist in the physical layout of analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks (ADCs, DACs, PLLs, clocking, high‑speed interfaces) under mentor guidance.
• Apply analog layout fundamentals: device matching, symmetry, floorplanning, routing, and parasitic awareness.
• Perform design-rule checks (DRC) and layout-versus-schematic (LVS) verification and help resolve issues with support from engineers.
• Participate in layout reviews and discuss layout impacts on circuit performance and reliability.
• Document layout work, report progress, and collaborate with local and overseas teammates.
• Contribute to scripting or automation tasks to improve layout efficiency when applicable.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of semiconductor devices, CMOS technology, and electronic circuits.
• Strong interest in analog and mixed-signal IC design and physical layout.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Effective communication skills in English and ability to work in a team environment.

Nice-to-have

• Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys Custom Compiler, or physical verification tools (e.g., Calibre).
• Relevant coursework or projects in analog circuits, VLSI, or IC design.
• Basic knowledge of Linux and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or SKILL.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related discipline. (This is an academic internship position.)
