Job Title
Analog IC Design Manager
Role Summary
Lead mixed-signal analog IC design and layout teams to deliver precision integrated circuits combining high-resolution ADCs/DACs, amplifiers, references, data communication and integrated power management. Manage technical execution, cross-functional coordination, and on-time delivery from specification through production.
This role combines hands-on technical depth with engineering management to drive schedule, quality, and team development.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 10+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience and 5+ years of engineering management or technical lead experience.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and people leadership and own program execution for multiple analog/mixed-signal IC projects:
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance and design oversight across analog and mixed-signal design and layout teams.
- Lead design reviews and enforce robust design practices to maximize first-pass silicon success.
- Translate product specifications into executable design, verification and layout plans; coordinate with system architects and product teams.
- Drive post-silicon debug, validation, characterization and timely resolution of issues to support production release.
- Manage, mentor, and develop engineers and team leads; set goals, conduct performance reviews, and build team capability.
- Plan and manage resources, tape-out schedules, and risk mitigation across concurrent programs.
- Communicate program status, risks, and decisions to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing with global peers and partner teams (systems, applications, validation, test, product engineering).
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical and leadership qualifications.
-
Must-have: 10+ years analog/mixed-signal IC design experience; 5+ years engineering management or technical lead experience.
-
Must-have: Hands-on background in analog and mixed-signal circuit design (examples: data converters, amplifiers, references, switching power).
-
Must-have: Demonstrated track record of on-time tape-outs and successful product releases to production; strong understanding of the full IC development cycle (design, simulation, layout, verification, bring-up, characterization).
-
Must-have: Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to drive accountability to milestones.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience managing multiple concurrent programs; knowledge of analog CMOS and/or BCD process nodes, modeling and verification methodologies.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Cadence design environment, digital design flow and formal verification; domain experience in power management, precision analog, digital design or AMS verification.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience working in a global organization; German language proficiency is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (degree level listed includes Bachelor's Degree). Related fields and advanced degrees are acceptable.
