Analog IC Design Engineer, Intern

Role Summary

Internship position within Marvell's Central Engineering analog team in Pavia, focused on analog IC design for AI and cloud data-center applications. The role provides hands-on exposure to advanced process nodes, high-speed analog design, and industry CAD tools over a 6-month contract suitable for an industrial Master thesis.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for students currently pursuing or completing a Master or PhD thesis, or recent graduates participating in an industrial thesis program.

Responsibilities

Work with the analog team to design, simulate, and lay out high-performance analog and electro-optical interface circuits.

  • Design integrated circuits targeting electrical and electro-optical interfaces at 100+ Gb/s.
  • Use advanced process nodes (3nm FinFET and 2nm GAAFET) in design activities.
  • Learn and apply Cadence and other CAD tools for analog circuit design and simulation.
  • Develop analog and high-speed layout skills and apply layout-dependent considerations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to achieve design goals.

  • Academic knowledge of CMOS analog design; practical exposure preferred.
  • Basic understanding of RF design techniques is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CMOS processes and semiconductor fabrication concepts.
  • Basic IC layout knowledge and attention to layout-dependent effects.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn new technologies, and able to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Italian and English (B2 level or higher).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering (for sponsorship of an industrial Master thesis) OR currently enrolled and working on a Master or PhD thesis in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical field.
