Job Title
Analog IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and validate high-performance analog and mixed-signal IC blocks (high-speed ADCs/DACs, RF transmitter/receiver front ends and signal-chain components) from architecture through silicon validation. Work with advanced deep-submicron CMOS processes and collaborate with layout, verification, and test teams.
Role covers circuit design, modeling, post-layout verification, tapeout support and lab-based silicon characterization for communication and sensing systems.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires practical, hands-on experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design, including tapeout and lab testing. Exact years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, analyze, and optimize high-performance analog and mixed-signal IC blocks, including high-speed ADCs, DACs and RF front ends.
- Create transistor-level schematics and run circuit simulations using Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre (DC, AC, transient, noise, Monte Carlo, corners).
- Develop system-level and behavioral models using MATLAB, Verilog-A, and Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Collaborate with layout engineers on floorplanning, device matching, shielding and layout optimization.
- Perform post-layout verification and extraction using tools such as Cadence Pegasus and Calibre.
- Support full-chip integration: interface definition, top-level verification and signoff flows.
- Lead or support tapeout activities, including schematic/layout reviews and documentation.
- Develop silicon validation plans, guide lab testing, analyze measurement data, and debug performance issues.
- Produce technical documentation, datasheets, and customer-facing materials.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven analog/mixed-signal IC design experience with tapeout in advanced CMOS processes (experience at 22 nm, 12 nm, 7 nm is relevant).
- Demonstrated experience designing high-speed ADCs (required); DAC and RF circuit experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of ADC/DAC architectures and high-speed data-converter tradeoffs.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre for circuit design and simulation.
- Experience with MATLAB for system-level modeling and calibration.
- Experience developing/using Verilog-A and Verilog/SystemVerilog models for mixed-signal designs.
- Familiarity with physical verification and extraction tools (Cadence Pegasus, Siemens Calibre) and post-layout simulation/tapeout signoff flows.
- Hands-on lab testing experience with high-speed ADC/DAC or RF ICs and ability to analyze silicon measurement data.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field is preferred; the posting specifically references Electrical Engineering and Microelectronics. No other formal degree requirements or explicit equivalent-experience language were provided.
