Analog HV Design Engineer
Applied MaterialsJob Title
Analog HV Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and develop high-precision, low-noise analog and high-voltage/power electronics modules used in advanced wafer test systems. Lead end-to-end engineering activities from concept, modeling and simulation to lab validation and system integration.
Position sits in the Analog Electronics High Voltage group within the PDC business unit and collaborates with electrical, mechanical, firmware, software and physics teams to deliver integrated high-voltage subsystems.
Experience Level
Senior-level - the role requires significant hands-on experience; the posting specifies at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include leading design and validation of analog/HV modules and integrating them into larger systems.
- Lead projects from requirements through modeling, simulation, lab testing, debugging and system integration.
- Perform circuit modeling and SPICE simulations; refine designs based on analysis and measurements.
- Develop and execute lab test plans; perform precision, low-noise and high-voltage measurements and troubleshooting.
- Integrate modules into wafer test systems and perform system-level debugging with cross-functional teams (Elec, Mech, SW, FW, Physics).
- Create and maintain engineering documentation: specifications, test documents and verification reports.
- Coordinate procurement and assembly of components; identify and source critical parts.
- Support field integration and occasional travel (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Key technical skills and professional attributes required or preferred.
- Must-have: Minimum 10 years proven experience designing analog precision/low-noise, power or high-voltage circuits.
- Must-have: Proficient with ORCAD and SPICE-based circuit simulation tools.
- Must-have: Strong hands-on lab experience with measurement, PCB bring-up and debugging of HV/power electronics.
- Must-have: Ability to write and review specifications, test plans and development verification documents.
- Must-have: System-level understanding of the physical principles and operation of the modules.
- Must-have: Excellent English communication skills (speak, write, read).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with electromagnetic field simulation tools (CST).
- Nice-to-have: Experience working in multidisciplinary teams integrating mechanics, firmware, software and physics.
Education Requirements
B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with specialization or focus in analog, power or high-voltage circuits.
