Analog Field Applications Engineer - MPP

Role Summary

The Analog Field Applications Engineer partners with Sales to provide analog power technical expertise throughout the sales cycle for Multiphase Processor Power (MPP) products used in data center servers and telecom equipment.

Main duties include supporting customer design-in, troubleshooting and debug, performing schematic and layout reviews, delivering on-site technical support and training, and producing application notes that document use cases and implementations.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in multiphase power supply design for CPUs/GPUs/SoCs/ASICs or related PSU design work.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include technical support and enabling customer designs:

  • Respond to customer technical inquiries and support design-in activities during the sales cycle.
  • Review customer schematics and PCB layouts and provide actionable feedback.
  • Re-create and debug customer issues using evaluation boards and customer hardware.
  • Provide on-site support, technical training, and deep-dive sessions as needed.
  • Write application notes and documentation describing use cases, implementation details, and product flexibility.
  • Work closely with Sales to identify products or solutions that address customer projects and opportunities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, protocols, and capabilities:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in multiphase power supply design for CPUs, GPUs, SoCs, or ASICs.
  • Familiarity with VR14, SVI3, PWMVID, AVSBus and PMBus 1.4 protocols.
  • Understanding of power supply topology and control laws; familiarity with TLVR technologies.
  • Ability to run simulations and create or review schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Basic knowledge of EMI/EMC standards and their impact on power designs.
  • Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written).

Nice-to-have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work across functions and manage time to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience building influential customer relationships and working in fast-paced environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required (as stated in the posting).
