Job Title

Analog Engineer

Role Summary

Join Intel's Advanced Design Foundational IP Organization (AD-FIP) to design and optimize analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for advanced process nodes. The role focuses on circuit-level design, simulation, tape-out activities, and cross-functional collaboration to meet power, performance, area, timing, and yield targets.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” expects professional experience. Typical experience guidance from the posting: Bachelor's +4 years, Master's +3 years, PhD +1 year (see Education Requirements for full details).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on analog circuit design, verification, and close collaboration with layout, process, and product teams.

  • Design, develop, and implement analog and mixed-signal IPs (ADCs, DACs, voltage regulators, high-speed I/O).
  • Perform circuit-level design, simulation, and optimization for power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
  • Create and validate floorplans, extract chip parameters, and simulate analog behavior models.
  • Develop test plans for design verification and analyze test results to meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with architecture and layout teams to ensure robust electrical implementation.
  • Execute tape-out activities and support post-silicon validation and issue resolution.
  • Serve as technical interface to process technology, IP engineers, and product teams to influence node development.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Expertise in analog circuit design, simulation, and verification (SPICE or equivalent).
  • Proficiency with CMOS technologies and practical understanding of analog layout.
  • Experience with tape-out processes for analog/mixed-signal circuits, including ADCs and DACs.
  • Knowledge of SoC analog layout design checks and verification methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve performance and circuit-level issues during design and post-silicon validation.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years of analog/mixed-signal circuit design experience; OR Master's degree plus 3+ years; OR PhD plus 1+ year. Fields explicitly mentioned: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields.
