Analog Design Senior Staff Engineer
SynopsysJob Title
Analog Design Senior Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design of high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits for die-to-die and IO PHY products. Work within the Vietnam analog design team to deliver silicon-proven IP for AI, data center, and 5G applications.
Responsible for full design flow from specification through layout collaboration, post-layout verification, testchip architecture, and silicon bring-up. Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional design reviews.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 8+ years in high-speed mixed-signal/analog IC design and 3+ years leading design teams or owning full design blocks from spec to silicon.
Responsibilities
Design, verify, and validate analog and mixed-signal blocks; collaborate with layout, digital, and system teams; lead reviews and silicon validation.
- Design high-speed IO analog circuits (CTLE, FFE, TCOIL, DFE), PLL/DLL, bandgaps, clock trees, and calibration circuits for UCIe and die-to-die PHYs.
- Collaborate with layout engineers and perform post-layout verification to confirm performance under real layout parasitics.
- Analyze and resolve signal integrity, power integrity, noise, and margin issues in complex mixed-signal systems.
- Integrate analog blocks with digital and system teams and support mixed-signal verification.
- Design testchip architectures, develop test cases, and run silicon bring-up and lab validation.
- Lead global design reviews and mentor junior engineers on design, layout collaboration, and verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience designing high-speed mixed-signal PHY circuits with a track record of tapeouts that worked in silicon.
- 3+ years leading design teams, managing projects, or owning full design blocks from specification to silicon.
- Deep understanding of analog circuit design fundamentals, including noise analysis, signal integrity, power integrity, and layout effects.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with layout, digital, and system engineers across distributed teams.
- Strong English communication skills for presentations, documentation, and cross-region collaboration.
- Experience with academic research or publishing is a plus.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electromechanics, or Telecommunications (degree in a related technical field specified).
