Job Title

Analog Design Senior Staff Engineer

Role Summary

Lead analog design activities for medium-to-large complexity circuits in high-speed SerDes IP (Ethernet, PCIe) within a global analog and mixed-signal R&D team. Deliver silicon-proven analog blocks and ensure robust correlation between simulation and silicon.

Work closely with layout, verification, and cross-functional teams to optimize performance, power, area, and reliability across advanced FinFET/GAA process nodes.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires significant hands-on analog IC design experience. The posting specifies MSc + 8+ years or PhD + 6+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Own and guide analog design activities from specification through silicon correlation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop medium to large complexity analog circuits for high-speed SerDes products (Rx/Tx, PLLs, references, data converters).
  • Lead and review analog designs to meet electrical specifications and reliability constraints.
  • Plan analog design workstreams, define methods, procedures, and milestones for project execution.
  • Collaborate with layout teams to evaluate and minimize parasitics and optimize performance, power, and area.
  • Validate silicon correlation with simulation; diagnose and fix discrepancies.
  • Mentor and train less-experienced analog designers; run design reviews and follow up on improvements.
  • Coordinate across global, cross-functional R&D teams to integrate analog and mixed-signal designs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (concise):

  • Proven CMOS analog design experience with hands-on work on ADC, DAC, PLL, Rx/Tx, references, or similar blocks.
  • Experience coordinating design activities across teams and managing medium-complexity designs.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard IC design packages and EDA tools.
  • Proficiency with UNIX operating systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; able to lead reviews and document design decisions.
  • Ability to analyze trade-offs for performance, power, area, and reliability and to drive robust implementations.
  • Nice-to-have: system-level SerDes architecture knowledge and experience with advanced FinFET/GAA nodes.

Education Requirements

Required: M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience. Fields: Electrical Engineering / related technical fields. No certifications specified.
