Analog Design Intern (Master's) - 2027 Co-Op
Role Summary
Work as an analog IC design intern on the Data Center Networking team focused on Photonic Fabric and silicon photonics for scale-up networking. The role provides hands-on experience with high-speed electro-optical interface design and exposure to IC design workflows and CAD tools.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for current Master's or PhD students; prior hands-on circuit design or chip tape-out experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities during the co-op include designing, simulating, and validating high-speed analog/electro-optical circuits and collaborating within an analog design team.
- Design and simulate integrated circuits for electrical and electro-optical interfaces at 100+ Gb/s.
- Use advanced technology nodes (3 nm FinFET) and CAD tools (primarily Cadence) for design and verification.
- Develop and apply high-speed analog layout techniques.
- Participate in team design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional engineers to achieve project goals.
- Document design work and present results to supervisors and team members.
Requirements
Must-have technical and professional qualifications for the internship.
- Completed or in-progress circuit design work or chip tape-out experience (must).
- Academic knowledge of CMOS analog design and understanding of CMOS processes and fabrication (must).
- Basic knowledge of IC layout (must).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team (must).
- Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies (must).
- May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. citizens may be subject to export license review (must be eligible where applicable).
- Nice-to-have: basic RF design techniques.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD (actively working on thesis). No specific field of study was specified in the posting.
