Analog Design Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Work with senior engineers on the design, simulation, layout support and lab validation of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Tasks include assisting with amplifiers, filters, data converters and associated testing workflows.

This is a hands-on internship focused on developing practical IC design skills and preparing students for potential full-time engineering roles.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for students; intended for those currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a relevant technical discipline.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include assisting with circuit design, simulation, layout support and testing under senior engineering supervision.

  • Assist in design and simulation of analog circuits (amplifiers, filters, etc.).
  • Model and analyze circuits using SPICE and similar simulation tools.
  • Support IC layout tasks to optimize performance and manufacturability.
  • Perform lab tests and measurements using oscilloscopes, function generators and other test equipment.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and optimize designs.
  • Document test results, simulations and design changes.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience. Preferred items listed separately.

  • Basic understanding of analog circuits and the ability to assist senior engineers on design tasks.
  • Introductory exposure to mixed-signal IC concepts and CMOS technology.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools (SPICE) for modeling and prediction.
  • Initial exposure to integrated circuit layout principles.
  • Basic knowledge of ADCs and data conversion fundamentals.
  • Hands-on or coursework experience with electronic test equipment and measurements.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and clear communication.

Nice-to-have:

  • Coursework or project experience in analog circuit design and simulation.
  • Previous internship or project experience in IC design workflows.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; coursework or projects in analog circuit design and simulation are expected.
